Oklahoma City police are looking into multiple sex-related crime allegations against a Norman High School administrator.
Detectives served a warrant Tuesday, July 16 on Robert Davis, 40, at his Northwest Oklahoma City home.
Norman Public School officials and North High School students learned of Davis’s arrest on Wednesday.
“Hearing this,” said Micah Wilson, student. “That’s shocking.”
Wilson said Davis had only been at the school for a year where he served as an assistant principal.
“It’s shocking to find out a principal that you would trust and tell stuff to,” said Makayla Lester, student. “Would be accused of rape.”
Police said a woman who was house-sitting for Davis reported the incident back in May.
“While she was there, he offered her something to drink,” said MSgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “She began to feel effects from the drink, felt woozy to the point where she eventually passed out.”
The victim told police she woke up once, and Davis was sitting on the bed next to her. She reportedly woke up again with different clothes on, and said Davis was calling her.
According to the report, she told Davis, "You drugged me." Davis answered by saying, “"I just added peach Schnapps."
“As the investigation progressed,” said MSgt. Knight. “We’ve identified what we believe are several victims.”
Detectives arrested Davis at his home and booked him into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of sexual battery.
Norman Public School officials notified parents through an alert and sent News 9 a statement:
"We were this morning made aware of the arrest of Norman High School Assistant Principal Rob Davis on a charge that occurred in Canadian County. We have immediately suspended Mr. Davis pending the outcome of these charges. He has no access to our campuses and will have no communications with any Norman Public Schools staff or students. We do not tolerate any behavior or conduct of the type that is charged."
“I don’t want it to be true,” said Lester. “Honestly, because he was a very nice guy.”
According to Davis's Twitter account, he was a finalist for state teacher of the year in 2018 when he was employed at Yukon High School.
