Norman Police Reveal Cause Of Death For Former State Senator

The cause of death for a former Oklahoma state senator was revealed Thursday morning.

Norman Police say that Jonathan Nichols, 53, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Nichols was found dead in his west Norman home on June 5.

Nichols is a former Republican state senator from Norman who served from 2000 to 2012. After that he took staff positions with the state House, Senate and the University of Oklahoma.
