Stillwater Police Investigating Threat At Apartment Complex

Stillwater Police officers are investigating what they're calling a "critical incident" Sunday at a Stillwater apartment complex located at 213 West Elm Avenue.

According to police, around 9:45 a.m. the Stillwater Police Department received a call from a man stating he had several hostages. The caller went on to say he had several pipe bombs lying around the area. The caller also stated he had already shot one of the hostages. The caller demanded a large sum of cash in exchange for the hostages.

According to the report, the caller identified himself by name when asked by the dispatcher. The caller refused to provide his apartment number.

Officers evacuated the building to search for the caller, but said he was never located.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Stillwater Police Department at 405-372-4171.
