Oklahoma Breweries Celebrating New Liquor Laws

Oklahoma brewers are also raising a glass to the new alcohol laws.

As of October 1, they can keep longer hours and don't have to restrict those under 21 from coming inside their tap rooms.

One brewery owner told News 9 the change will help create more a family atmosphere.

Certain areas, like right next to the bar, are still off limits for people under 21.

“When visitors come from other states that have been historically more beer friendly, they are shocked when they come in and we have to turn them away,” says Twisted Spike Brewery Owner Bruce Sanchez about families coming inside his brewery.

Before the new laws took effect, Twisted Spike and other tap rooms sold 3.2 beer after 9 p.m. in order to stay open later.

Now they don't have to close until 2 am.
