One man is dead, and another is in critical condition after being shocked in the Bricktown canal Sunday.
Authorities and witnesses say the surviving victim, Brandon Gann from Arkansas, was trying to save the first victim.
According to Oklahoma City firefighters, a man fell into the canal Sunday evening, taking down one of the light pedestals and the wires with him.
This charged the water and shocking the man with electricity.

“We're being told by bystanders that were out there that they had tried to help the first person out and even they were being shocked when they were grabbing him,” Oklahoma City Fire Battalion Chief Benny Fulkerson said.
Gann jumped in the water to save the man, but quickly became the second shock victim.
The first man was taken out before first responders arrived.
Gann was lifted out by OKC Fire using a pike pole.
Fire officials say divers were unable to enter the water due to the electricity.
Both victims were transported by EMSA to OU Medical.
Authorities say Gann is in critical condition and the other has died.
Meanwhile, the city is preparing to turn the canal lights back on safely.
PIO for the City of Oklahoma City, Kristy Yager, says the broken light pedestal is being repaired, and the other 80 pedestals along the river are being checked.
Yager confirms police have surveillance video of the accident.
Details on how the first man fell in have been conflicting and confusing for authorities.
The City is waiting on the complete investigation to decide whether canal changes are necessary.
“We're talking with the parks department and the maintenance crew. We'll discuss all of that as we get more information about what happened,” Yager said.
