Army National Guard Troops returned home to a hero’s welcome Tuesday night at Mustang High School.

This squadron has a lineage that goes back to the Oklahoma Territory in the 1890's that fought with Teddy Roosevelt in the Spanish American War. This time it was ten months in Afghanistan.

Colonel Chris Chomosh is also a Tulsa Police Officer. He says some of these soldiers have been deployed as many as six times.

Returning soldier Ryan Smith and his family are from Stratford.

“We’re kind of used to i. I’ve been in 18 years. This is my fourth time…but it doesn’t get any easier, being gone. Happy to be home,” Smith said.
