Two loaded weapons were found by TSA agents Wednesday at the Will Rogers World Airport, the agency reported.
A .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver loaded with five rounds was found about 8 a.m., and a Ruger .380 pistol loaded with six rounds was found about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Both weapons were found during an X-ray screening of the passengers' carry-on bag at a checkpoint.
Both passengers were allowed to continue onto their next destination after being interviewed by Oklahoma Cit police and after their weapons were confiscated.
Firearms are allowed in checked bags, if declared to the airline and properly packed in a locked, hard-sided container. Ammunition, firearm parts and realistic replicas cannot be carried through any TSA security checkpoint, but can travel in a checked bag.
TSA said it strongly encourages travelers to contact their airline for specific firearm and ammunition policies and to check with local laws related to carrying and transporting firearms.
This brings the total number of firearms found in Oklahoma City up to 29 this year.
