News 9 is getting the first look at new plans for the now incomplete American Indian Cultural Center and Museum (AICCM).
Executive Director James Pepper Henry says construction will begin again in January and the AICCM will open in the spring of 2021.
Henry gave the OKC City Council a progress report on the $65 million project and showed new renderings.
“We are going to be borrowing over 120 objects from the Smithsonian that were taken from tribes in Oklahoma over 100 years ago,” says Henry.
Other items are expected to come from people's private donations.
The AICCM will tell the history of the 39 tribes in Oklahoma.
