Oklahoma State pushed its winning streak to three Sunday afternoon as the 21st-ranked Cowgirls topped San Francisco, 3-0, at Neal Patterson Stadium.
OSU netted each of its goals in the final 17 minutes as the Cowgirls improved to 6-1-0 on the season, which includes a 5-0-0 showing on their home field.
Kim Rodriguez, Marlo Zoller and Haley Woodard recorded the OSU goals, while Dani Greenlee and Hannah Warner combined for the Cowgirls' fourth shutout of the season in a match that saw the home team outshoot USF (5-3-0) by a 17-9 margin.
The two teams played a scoreless opening half, with OSU outshooting the Dons by a 7-3 count. Greenlee made a pair of early saves to keep USF off the scoreboard, while the Cowgirls had three shots on frame. Two of those OSU shots came on headers off corner kicks, with an early attempt by Claire Gantzer saved by USF goalie Olivia Camera before a try by Rodriguez was cleared off the line by a defender just over three minutes prior to intermission.
The match remained scoreless until the 74th minute when Camy Huddleston made a great move in the box and was fouled by a defender to earn a penalty kick. Rodriguez stepped up and buried her second PK opportunity of the season to put OSU on top.
Just over four minutes later, the Cowgirls doubled their lead when Grace Yochum delivered a pass to a streaking Zoller just in front of the goal; Zoller sent it in for her team-leading fourth goal of the season and a 2-0 OSU lead.
Woodard capped the scoring in the 88th minute when she netted her third goal of the year, beating a USF defender off the dribble and then rocketing a 20-yard shot top shelf to the far post.
OSU will be on the road for its next four matches, beginning with a Friday night contest at Creighton. The Cowgirls then take on UMKC on Sunday before opening defense of their Big 12 Conference title on Sept. 21 at Kansas State.
