Lakins’ body was discovered by her then 6-year-old son in their home on West 7th Street around 7:50 a.m. in Prague, Oklahoma on March 5, 1982. Her son reported that his mother’s throat was “cut open”, according to OSBI.
The medical examiner determined Lakins died by strangulation and multiple stabs wounds.
OSBI says Lakins worked at Boley schools and was last seen alive on the evening of March 4, 1982 between 10 and 10:15 p.m. She was reportedly sitting in a vehicle in the driveway of her residence.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call OSBI’s tipline at 1-800-522-8017, where you can remain anonymous. This case is highlighted in OSBI’s cold case playing cards as the two of spades, released to prisoners last November.
