Gubernatorial candidates Kevin Stitt and Drew Edmondson were asked about their position on Oklahoma gun laws.

Stitt was recently endorsed by President Donald Trump in a tweet that said, "He is strong on Crime & Borders, the 2nd Amendment, & loves our Military & Vets. He has my complete and total Endorsement!"

News 9 asked if Stitt would revisit constitutional carry, a bill that was vetoed by Governor Mary Fallin earlier this year. If that measure passed, it would have allowed adults to carry firearms without a permit or training.

Constitutional Carry was supported by the National Rifle Association before Governor Fallin shot it down.

However, many law enforcement agencies, including the OSBI opposed the measure.

“I would sign it. I am a constitutional conservative. I support the first amendment, the second amendment and I think the best defense for a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun,” said Stitt.

Edmondson would not comment on camera, but has said he doesn't back constitutional carry.

Instead, Edmondson said if he was elected governor, he would propose the same regulations for purchasing assault rifles, as those in place for carrying handguns. Those guidelines include: not having a felony, no history of mental illness and being at last 21-years old.
