Home Surveillance Re-enacted For Jurors In Bert Franklin Murder Case

Oklahoma County prosecutors said in court Thursday that home surveillance video is missing from the day 19-month-old Lincoln Lewis was severely abused.

It is alleged former Tulsa dentist Bert Franklin caused the child’s deadly injuries and deleted the video clips.

Franklin’s mistress, Roxanne Randall, has testified that she noticed several home video clips were missing in the days after her son’s death.

Defense attorneys showed jurors a re-enactment video created by Oklahoma City police detectives and Randall, the victim’s mother. The video was made due to some of the home surveillance video being missing. Randall believes Franklin, her boyfriend at the time, deleted the clips.

Randall is seen in the video checking on her son the day he was severely abused. She came downstairs after hearing a thud.

It is alleged the noise she heard was Franklin harming her son. Franklin told her the noise was the dog.

The following morning the toddler was rushed to the hospital but did not survive the injuries.

The medical examiner explained to the court the skull fracture the boy suffered went from the back of his head to the front.

He said great force caused the fracture and called it a definite red flag of abusive head trauma and not caused by a fall.

Franklin has denied abusing the child. His attorneys argue the child fell down a staircase at Randall’s home two days before he died.

Jurors will hear from the lead detective on the case on Friday.
