It’s time for back-to-school and students aren’t the only ones rushing to get items on their supply list.
The Feed the Children Teacher store in Oklahoma City is pitching in to help with a new store. All the customers who qualify are teachers, and all the items are free.
All the supplies can be stuffed in a bag, all the books you can fit in a box, and everything you can haul back to your car… free of charge.
"It was overwhelming all these materials and supplies available to us thanks to people and businesses and organizations providing it," said Shawn Freeman/Ada High School
Feed the Children provides food, education initiatives, and disaster response around the world. In the U.S. they have distribution centers in Oklahoma, Indiana, California, Tennessee and Pennsylvania.
The teacher store specifically targets educators working in Title One qualified districts.

"I'm a first year teacher and this gives a lot of supplies i don't have to pay for and it helps supply my students with what they want and need to make them more successful," said Ardmore Teacher Amber Kennedy.
In 2017, more than 8500 teachers from more than 200 districts across the state visited the store.
"It's essential because we have students who come to school with what they have on and that's it so having paper and pencils and other necessities or them that is huge," said Freeman.
The Store is open year round.
