A traffic stop in the metro by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper leads to the arrest of an Oklahoma reserve police officer. Court documents reveal nearly 160 pounds of marijuana was found in the man’s truck.

The arrest paperwork indicates Terry Browne, 33, caught a trooper's attention the morning of July 27, when he did not stop at a red light near Southwest 44th and Council Road. The trooper followed Browne on Highway 152 and pulled him over on South MacArthur.

Browne told the trooper he was going to Warr Acres for SWAT training and that he was a reserve police officer for the Cleveland Police Department in northeastern Oklahoma. The trooper noted the man was nervous and his arms and hands were trembling.

Browne refused to allow troopers to search his truck, so they brought in the Canadian County Sheriff's drug K-9. The dog hit on the bed of the Browne's truck twice.

Law enforcement found multiple one-pound vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana in two suitcases and a box, totaling 150 pounds. They also found nearly 10 pounds of gummy edibles in a cooler.

Browne was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on one complaint of drug trafficking.

Cleveland Police Chief Clinton Stout said he was notified the day of the arrest and terminated Browne from the department, where he served for a year. The chief said Browne is from Cleveland and he was giving him a chance.

Browne previously worked as a reserve police officer for the town of Jennings.
