1 Detained After Police Pursuit Spans Multiple Counties

A police pursuit spanned multiple counties Friday morning in central Oklahoma.

A vehicle was eluding police near SE 149th and Peebly Road in Cleveland County when News 9 learned of the chase.

The pursuit began as a welfare check in the area of Highway 102 and Pecan Grove Road in Shawnee in Pottawatomie County.

A deputy spotted a man in a maroon Ford F-150 drinking. 

The driver sped off into Cleveland County, Pottawatomie County Sgt. Scott Hawkins said. 

Officers were able to detain the driver near SE 149th and 108th Avenue NE.
