Three men were discovered passed out in a vehicle, stopped in the middle of a highway in Logan County. And once they woke up, they lead deputies on a dangerous pursuit.
Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Jarrett George first responded to the call around 11:30 p.m. on June 15.
Dash camera and body camera footage showed Deputy George check out the car on Highway 74 near Charter Oak and open the door.
“They were all three out cold,” Deputy George said.
The men inside the vehicle appeared unconscious and Deputy George said the smell of alcohol was strong.
Footage showed the front seat passenger had ahold of the steering wheel, the driver had ahold of the passenger's arm and his foot was still on the brake.
When he came to, Deputy George said the driver hit the gas and the pursuit begins.
The suspect car stopped and started multiple times, swerved into the wrong lane of traffic, and ran other cars off the road.
When the driver finally stopped for good, Deputy George gave commands to get out and approached again.
“As I approached the driver’s window I saw feet,” Deputy George said. “So he slammed on the brakes and tried to jump in the back seat like he wasn’t driving. Like, ‘hey, it wasn’t me’ even though I already got body cam footage.”
Deputy George continued to give orders and he said the men continued to refuse.
After one was hit was a Taser, the others in the footage are seen quickly complying.
Anthony Garcia, Omar Lewis and Aaron Brooks were all booked into the Logan County Jail.
