Dispute Between Norman Neighbors Ends In Arson And Stabbing

A dispute between neighbors in Norman ended with one person sent to the hospital for stabbing injuries.

The suspect now in custody is also accused of lighting his neighbor's car on fire as part of this ongoing arson and assault  investigation. Norman police officers responded to the neighborhood near Porter and Rock Creek Road Sunday afternoon.

Police state a man and woman were having an argument when he set her car on fire and then stabbed her. 

He locked himself in an apartment but eventually surrendered after making phone contact with police.

Officers said they are no stranger to the neighborhood.

"I know we were out here not long ago today... apparently it's an ongoing dispute between the neighbors and it has been for a little bit of time," said Lt. Teddy Wilson, Norman Police. 

No names have been released. The victim is expected to recover.
