Choctaw Police arrested a 15-year-old student of Choctaw High School in connection with threats of school violence with a firearm made on social media.
Officials report the student made threatening posts against the school. Officers were made aware of the threat February 28, before they began an investigation. Choctaw officers, along with a Canadian Cybers Crime Unit, the FBI and assistance from the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children, helped lead officers to the identity of the suspect.
The suspect was questioned at the Choctaw Police Department where police say he admitted to creating the post.
The suspect was transported to the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center. He was booked in on charges of communicating a terroristic threat and violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.
