Murder Trial Against Tulsa Dentist Expected To Begin Monday In OK Co.

The murder trial for the Tulsa dentist accused of killing an Oklahoma City baby is scheduled to begin Monday.

Bert Franklin was arrested last year in connection with the death of baby Lincoln Lewis in July.

Court documents state Franklin had been having an affair with Lincoln's mother for about a year when Lincoln died.

According to the documents, Franklin's wife had no idea about the affair.

Lincoln's mother reported she was at home with her son and Franklin in northwest Oklahoma City moments before Lincoln was rushed to the hospital.

She recalled hearing a loud thud from the room where Lincoln and Franklin were alone together.

Doctors at Mercy hospital eventually diagnosed baby Lincoln with a skull fracture and noted injuries they think were consistent with abuse.

The jury trial is expected to begin at 9 a.m. at the Oklahoma County courthouse.
