Police Identify Teen Struck By Car In SE OKC

Authorities have identified a teen boy who was struck by a vehicle in southeast Oklahoma City, Sunday evening. But police say his name will not be released to the public because he is a juvenile.

The 14-year-old, was riding on a skateboard when he was struck by a car near SE 59th Street and S. Sunnylane Road, around 6 p.m. According to Oklahoma City Police, the teen was reported a runaway out of Norman, and his family was notified of the accident Monday.

Right now, the teen is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.

According to police, the driver who struck the teen stayed on scene, and is not expected to be facing any charges.

Auto/ped last night just before 6pm. Young boy struck and critically injured (approx. 15 yr old white male wearing all dark clothing, riding a skateboard) near SE 59/Sunnylane. Skateboard has picture of girl on it. Trying to find family of victim. 405-235-7300 w/ info.
