The nation was watching as Brenton Hager weaved in and out of roads in a stolen Ford F-250 on Friday, November 10. No one was paying more attention than Stephanie Jones.
It was a multi-county chase that finally ended with the suspect being tased and arrested.
“I fell to my knees and started crying. I could not believe what he has destroyed,” said Jones.
She said their family truck was stolen a week before the pursuit.
On Friday, November 3, Jones started her diesel truck to warm it up. She was sitting only a few feet away from it when she heard the door slam. By the time she looked up, Hager was already heading eastbound with her truck. She said Hager had no right to be on their property in the first place.
The following Friday, November 10, her husband was driving in Oklahoma City when he saw his truck. It has identifiable features because the Jones’ put a lot of money and time into the truck after they bought it off the lot. Her husband called police and the three-hour chase started.

“I thank God every day that he didn’t kill someone, that he didn’t hurt anybody because we would have lived with that guilt for the rest of our lives,” said Jones.
She said insurance won’t cover the entire value of the vehicle. She and her husband started with nothing and worked hard to purchase that truck.
Jones demands an apology from Hager.
“You need to get what’s coming to you. You need to go back to where you belong in your little bitty cell and you need to sit there. And you need to get clean and think about what you’ve done,” she said, “And I personally would love for my husband and I to get a formal apology from him.”
Jones said only the truck belonged to her family. She believes the trailer attached was taken from someone else.
