Formal charges have been filed against the man who led law enforcement on a nearly three-hour chase throughout the metro.
Monday, 25-year-old Brenton Hager was charged with eight counts including felony assault on a police officer with a dangerous weapon, felony endangering others while eluding/attempting to elude police officer and felony unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Hager led police on a wild chase after he stole a pickup truck with a trailer on Friday, November 10. During the chase, Hager almost caused a crash, drove through a gate and even stopped to get rid of items like a heavy toolbox.
Hager was also confronted by a citizen in which the citizen fired shots at the truck’s tires.
The chase stalled out in a field near Norman and he continued to drive away from officers in the field. During what would be his last ditch effort at escape, he almost crashed into a News 9 unit and crashed into a pond.
Hager has been book into the Cleveland County Detention Center.
