Underwood Has Cowboys Trending Toward Tournament Berth

The Brad Underwood experiment is off and running with a full head of steam. Oklahoma State is 9-2 with several quality wins on its resume and looking like an NCAA Tournament team despite relying heavily on freshmen.

TeamRankings.com, a San Francisco-based projections site, has the Cowboys making the largest leap (+20.5 percent) in odds to make the Big Dance over the past week, thanks to the win at Wichita State.

Team Rankings’ simulations predict Oklahoma State to finish 18-13 overall and be a 10-seed in March. That means with a win on Thursday against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, OSU is expected to post an 8-11 record and still make the tournament.

ESPN’s Bracketology with Joe Lunardi currently has the Pokes as an 11-seed facing 6-seed Oregon - for the third time in five years.
