911 Call Reveals Edmond Kidnapping Victim's Struggle

An Edmond woman made a frantic call to 911 seconds before she was kidnapped.

Dispatcher: "Edmond 911, what's the location of your emergency?"

Victim: "I need the police to 2500 Thomas Drive. My ex-boyfriend is trying to break in and kill me."

The call sent sirens screaming toward her apartment near Boulevard and Covell, around midnight Tuesday.

When officers arrived, the victim was gone. They only found signs of the struggle that could be heard in the call for help.

Victim: "I didn't call"

In the background, there are sounds of someone banging on the door as the 911 operator tries to get more information from the victim.

Edmond Police say her ex-boyfriend, Devin Dar-Kahn, kicked in the apartment door.

The next thing heard during the call is what sounds like a struggle.

Dispatcher: "Ma'am, can you hear me?"

The victim stops responding.

Police say Dar-Kahn had threatened to kill the victim with a large bladed weapon.

He is accused of holding her against her will at unknown location for several hours.

"I'm not exactly sure the details of why he let her go but he knew what he was doing was wrong so he let her come back to the apartment," said Jenny Wagnon, an Edmond Police spokesperson.

Police are now searching for Dar-khan and they're not alone. He is also wanted in Garfield County in another domestic violence case.

Court records show Dar-khan has been a fugitive since February 2016.

"He knows obviously that he has a warrant for him in another county," Wagnon explained, "he [Dar-khan] talked to her about possibly turning himself in."

At last check, he has failed to do so.

Police say he's been spotted near N.W. 122nd and Pennsylvania Avenue since the kidnapping.
