OKC Police Officer Arrested For Domestic Assault

An Oklahoma City police officer was arrested on a complaint of domestic assault and battery Tuesday.

According to police, Darren Wayne Martin, 45, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail. 

At about 12:45 p.m. Martin's wife went to the police department's Hefner Briefing Station to report a domestic violence related incident involving her husband. She said early Tuesday morning, she and Martin were in their bed when they began arguing. She said Martin then pushed her out of the bed, demanding that she leaves. So she went to the living room.

The victim said Martin followed her to the living room and continued to ask her to get out of the house. That's when the victim said Martin grabbed her by the arm, and then by both legs at the ankle, in an attempt to physically remove her from the couch and the house.

The victim said Martin began to throw her things from the bedroom into the garage. She decided to leave and went to her car in the garage. That's when she said one of the items Martin was throwing hit her car before it hit her in the face, causing a cut. 

Police said the victim also had bruising on her right arm and ankle. 

The victim and Martin both voluntarily went to the Oklahoma City Police Headquarters to be interviewed. Martin was later transported and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of domestic assault and battery. 

Martin is an officer for the Oklahoma City Police Department's Hefner Division.
