U.S. Sen. James Lankford has picked up where his predecessor Tom Coburn left off, exposing wasteful spending by the federal government.
Today, he released his second annual "Federal Fumbles: 100 Ways the Federal Government dropped the Ball."
Some of the low lights, and remember all of this spending comes with our country in debt $19 trillion:
The State Department gave Hollywood $1 million to bring in a dozen filmmakers from other countries to educate them on how to make movies.
Hollywood can't afford to do that themselves?
Our embassy in London likes to throw around your money; $90,000 to pay for a British journalist to come here and cover our election, another $77,000 offered to the person who came up with the best program to educate UK students about our election process.
And the embassy spent $75,000 flying Brits here for a 10 day junket to see how Americans do volunteer work.
And my favorite, the National Institutes of Health has spent $2 million, so far, studying what influences a child's view of food. One of the 7 reports they've issued so far proclaims children prefer clean food to food that has been sneezed on.
Mystery solved ... wonder no more.
