Last month, Governor Mary Fallin signed the Blue Alert Act into law.

It warns law enforcement and the public when someone is wanted in a case involving an assault on a law enforcement officer.

With the manhunt for murder suspect Michael Vance still active, the system is going into effect sooner than expected.

Electronic signs along Oklahoma's major roadways are now all still asking the public for their help in identifying Vance.

It's all part of the Blue Alert system it's similar to a Silver or Amber Alert.

It gives drivers some of the same information that law enforcement officers have when looking for a suspect, including their name, vehicle, and license plate number.

Authorities again are still looking for Vance he is to be considered armed and dangerous and driving a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse with Oklahoma plate 943-LQQ.

Law enforcement officials have established a hotline to deal specifically with tips regarding the search for Vance. That hotline number is (405) 246-9205 and will be manned 24/7 by U.S. Marshals.
