Family and friends of a Tuttle man who died last week after a motocross accident say he left this world after doing what he loved.
Chad Givens, 28, suffered a critical head injury after wrecking his motorcycle during a practice lap at the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex in Norman on October 6. Doctors at OU Medical Center took Givens off life-support this past Friday.
Givens was a professional motocross and streetcar racer. He was also known for working on friends’ cars and trucks, many times for free. He operated a garage next to his parents’ home in Tuttle.
One of his best friends Shaun McGee says Givens talked to him about death less than a month ago.
“He said man I’m not gonna [sic] live forever, so I’m gonna [sic] have as much fun as I can every day because when I go out, I want to be doing something I love. And that’s definitely what he did,” said McGee.
More than 500 people attended Chad Givens’ funeral in Tuttle this past Tuesday.
