Steven Adams practiced with the Thunder on Monday, though it’s still unknown if he’ll play in Oklahoma City’s third preseason game in Dallas tomorrow.
“It’s not like a 100 percent so it’s like a precautionary thing so we’ll see how it goes tomorrow,” Adams said of his ankle injury. “It feels good today. It’s worse than the ones I usually have, because usually I can just run them off and deal with it afterwards but this one was a little bit different. Couldn’t run properly so I had to go off right away.”
The Thunder went 1-1 in two games in Spain to begin the preseason, losing 142-137 to Real Madrid and beating FC Barcelona 92-89. Adams played in the first half of the Real Madrid game and sat out against Barcelona. He indicated the Thunder is working on defensive improvements.
“It’s just mainly seeing improvement from Spain. I guess the area is mainly our defense. Making sure it stays up the whole four quarters, whatever we’ve gone over strategically.”
Oklahoma City takes on Dallas at 7:30 p.m. CT tomorrow at the American Airlines Center.
