A generous donation to Special Care of Oklahoma City is already putting smiles on the faces of students and staff.
Noah's Park along with the help of SandRidge employees put together a new playground for the school specifically designed for kids with disabilities. It features ramps and wide pathways to allow plenty of room for kids using wheelchairs or walkers to play.
Special Care staff said their outdoor program before this donation was extremely outdated.
“Without our friends at SandRidge we would have not been able to provide this for students. We are focused on direct care,” said Kelli Dupuy with Special Care of Oklahoma City. “This is a difficult economic time for a lot of non-profits. We are in that same boat, we are spending all of our dollars on providing high quality early education specialized care and on site therapeutic services.”
Volunteers said they hope to have the playground complete and ready for the kids to enjoy starting Thursday.
