An Oklahoma City man is charged with four counts of child sex abuse against an eight-year-old girl and her 17-year-old autistic sister.
Johnny Aldric Samples, III was arrested Sept. 22. Police say the 17-year-old victim was sexually assaulted by Samples for two years before a police report was finally filed in March. Police say the grandmother took custody of the two children and noticed a “bad odor” coming from the 17-year-old’s private parts. She took her to Norman Regional and found out her granddaughter had a sexually transmitted disease, staph infection, and cigarette burns on her inner thigh.
Police investigated for months. In May 2016, another report was filed for her younger sister. The police report also shows she was raped multiple times by Samples. She was threatened if she told police.
Police say the girls' mother, Joanna Cortez, allowed Samples to abuse her daughters. Officers also say Cortez committed suicide inside the Oklahoma County jail shortly after her arrest in September.
