Midwest City Police have identified the suspect in the deadly shooting of a convenience store clerk as a 17-year-old former Star Spencer High School student.

Police believe the shooter was 17-year-old Samuel Myers. An arrest warrant was issued for Myers Monday night, but officers did not find him at his home. Investigators believe Myers is still in Oklahoma County, and say he is originally from Jones.

The crime happened early Saturday morning at GI’s Market, located in the 10000 block of NE 10th St.

Surveillance footage captured some of the events that unfolded before the fatal shots were fired. Police say Myers made a small purchase and waited for a customer to leave before pulling a semi-automatic handgun demanding money from the clerk, 33-year-old Salman Tahir.

According to police, Tahir cooperated, but Myers took the money, shot out a surveillance monitor and then shot Tahir in the back.

If you have any information regarding Myers’ whereabouts, you are asked to contact the MWC Police Department at (405) 739-1320.
