Third-year Thunder forward Mitch McGary has been suspended an additional 10 games for non-compliance with the NBA’s drug policy, league sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
That’s on top of a previous five-game suspension for violation of the league’s drug policy in July. The additional suspension isn’t believed to be for another positive test, rather a failure to live up to the program’s procedural guidelines.
Now facing a 15-game suspension to start the 2016-17 season, McGary has likely played his last game for the Thunder. Wojnarowski reports the franchise is looking to trade or release the 21st overall pick of the 2014 draft.
McGary played in 20 games last season, averaging 1.3 points per game but he showed promise as a rookie getting 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest in 32 games.
