Man Accused Of Killing Bethany Woman In 1997 Booked Into OK Co. Jail

A Texas felon is in the Oklahoma County jail after DNA evidence linked him to the death of a Bethany woman who was found in 1997.

William Lewis Reece is accused of raping and killing Tiffany Johnston.

The 19-year-old's body was found on July 27, 1997, dumped on the side of the road near Gregory Road and Interstate 40.

Johnston was found beaten, sexually assaulted and strangled to death, but her money, jewelry, paycheck and tips were found in her car, untouched, Johnston's mother Kathy Dobry told News 9 in 2015.

Reece was serving a 60 year sentence in a Texas prison for an aggravated kidnapping that happened in 1997 in Harris County, Texas. 

Reece has been booked Monday evening on kidnapping and murder charges. He is being held without bond.
