Airport Opens New Cell Phone Waiting Area

Drivers picking up passengers from Will Rogers World Airport now have a new area to park and wait. 

A new cell phone waiting area opened Friday on 67th Street directly across from the control tower. The waiting area is less than one minute from the terminal building. The cell phone waiting areas allow people to wait in their vehicles until their party calls to let them know they are at the curb and ready for pick up. 

An airport spokesperson reports steady growth in drivers utilizing the cell phone waiting areas. Much of the growth can be attributed to the fact that there is no parking, waiting or leaving unattended vehicles in the lanes in front of the terminal building.  

There is no charge to utilize the cell phone waiting areas.
