May Avenue Bridge Over Northwest Expressway To Temporarily close

Drivers will have to find alternate routes to navigate the area of Northwest Expressway and May Avenue next week. 

The May Ave. bridge will temporarily close for repairs from June 29 to July 2.

Work to repair the May Avenue bridge began last week after a semi-truck with a tall load hit the bridge. Oklahoma City Fire officials say the semi's boom lift was too tall and caused the bridge to collapse.

Traffic on Northwest Expressway is restricted to one lane in each direction during the duration of the full repair project. Construction is scheduled to be finished in late July.
