What started out as a suspicious death has now turned into a homicide investigation for the Oklahoma City police.
A man was found dead inside his garage.
The body is at the medical examiner’s office, who will determine the man's exact cause and manner of death.
Police told News 9 he had obvious signs of trauma, and that's why this has been ruled a homicide and not an accident.
Oklahoma City police arrived to the Rockwell Gardens Townhomes about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday after they received a call to check on a man's welfare.
When they arrived, they found the man lying on the floor in the garage.
“I looked out the door and seen some police officers,” said Don Clutts, who lives in a house just north of this townhome complex.
A fence divides the two properties, but Clutts said it doesn't keep him from knowing what's going on next door.
“There's usually some things going on around here every once in a while,” Clutts said.
But he says he didn't hear a thing last night or early this morning.
Though he knows the owner of the townhome complex, he did not know the man who lived in the unit where the death occurred.
“There's a lot of turnovers here,“ said Clutts. “But here lately, it’s been pretty quiet except for this.”
Right now, police are not releasing the man's name, age, or how he died.
