Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that killed one person and has two others dealing with injuries.
It happened Saturday in Nicoma Park and it's not the first time the suspect has been in trouble.
The crash was reported near N.E. 23rd and North Post Road Saturday afternoon. Police on the scene said 42-year-old Mario Cherry was driving at a high rate of speed when he crashed into two motorcycles, killing one person and critically injuring two others.
Investigators are also looking into whether road rage was involved.
The Sheriff's office also received word from officers that Cherry was driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed near 23rd and Anderson Rd., and even crashed into another car at N.E. 23rd and Westminster after running a red light, minutes before.
Cherry even fought with a police officer and a reserve deputy as he was being arrested. The police officer was taken to the hospital for his injuries but was later released.
Court records show Cherry spent time in jail back in June of last year after he was accused in an armed robbery.
Turns out, Cherry has been booked into jail a total of 23 times in the past 25 years. He has been arrested on multiple drug and gun charges, assault and battery on a police officer, and burglary as well.
Cherry is in the Oklahoma County jail on several complaints including first-degree manslaughter, driving under suspension, robbery and assault on an officer.
