An Oklahoma City man was arrested on a murder complaint, in connection to the death of his newborn baby, who would have turned just one month old on Friday, April 15.
According to police, on Thursday, April 7, an infant, later identified as Natalie Nicole Fuston, was brought to the Children’s Hospital with severe injuries that clearly were result of abuse.
Two days later, police said the child’s father, 22-year-old James Ray Fuston, turned himself in at the Bricktown police station for an outstanding, unrelated arrest warrant. He was interviewed by investigators from the Crimes Against Children Unit regarding the injuries to Natalie Fuston, and was then arrested on complaints of child neglect and child abuse.
However, on Wednesday, April 13, Natalie died from her injuries.
Investigators have since added the complaint of first-degree murder to Fuston’s list of charges. He's being held at the Oklahoma County Jail without bond.
Natalie's death is Oklahoma City's 20th homicide of 2016, according to police.
