Bethany is getting a new public library.

Bethany voters passed an $8.18 million bond to build a new library.

The vote was passed with 72 percent of the vote.

Bethany’s current public library, 3510 N Mueller Ave., will be torn down and will be replaced by one nearly three times its size.

The new library will have a larger book and materials collection and other modern amenities not available in the current 51-year-old building.

The proposed new library will be 23,000 square feet compared to the current library’s 8,400 square feet.
