The Oklahoma soccer community is rallying around a young bullying victim. It began with a Facebook post from his mother last weekend.

Brandy Noel said her son A.J. was viciously bullied at an after school program in Cleveland County.  She said the abuse drove her son to suicidal thoughts, and a recent stay in an area hospital.

OKC Energy Defender Cyprian Hedrick has worked with the boy in the past in youth soccer, and reached out to him on Monday.

OKC Energy FC’s fan group called “The Grid” has also stepped up, and has invited A.J., his family, and his youth soccer team to OKC Energy’s home opener at Taft Stadium March 26.

Holly Hutto is a member of “The Grid.”

“A.J. is one of us.  To directly quote one of our members, when we started talking about this over the last couple of days. A.J. has instantly received over 200 new aunts and uncles. This is going to be a relationship that extends way beyond March 26,” said Hutto.
