A man in The Village is trying to find whoever wrecked the idea of his dream home.
Right before he was set to move back in after months of remodeling, thieves cleaned him out. All the new appliances and much more are now gone.
”Sick to my stomach,” is how Brandon Martin felt last Thursday morning. “My neighbor called and said the garage door is open and everything was gone."
A new washer, dryer, refrigerator, and several other kitchen appliance were all taken. So was a motorcycle and other items that he had moved back into the house.
“We were actually supposed to move in this weekend,” said Martin, who thinks the thieves must have used a moving truck or trailer to get everything,
He believes the crooks made off with at least $20,000 worth of items.
The Village Police collected fingerprints, footprint casks and even possible DNA that may provide a match down the road.
“Have neighbors watch the property,” The Village Police Chief Paul Kinman said.
Martin does have insurance, but waiting for those checks and eventually new appliances means his big “remodel reveal” is on hold for who knows how long.
“We got robbed, taken advantage of. Not a good feeling,” he said.
