Los Angeles Clippers forward and former OU star Blake Griffin injured his right hand after hitting a Clippers equipment staffer during an argument according to an ESPN report.
Multiple sources told ESPN that Griffin and the equipment staffer got into the argument at a restaurant during the team’s trip to Toronto. It culminated in Griffin punching the man, who then walked outside the restaurant where Griffin followed him and hit him again.
The sources said both Griffin and the staffer were sent home and that Griffin is suspected to have suffered a fracture in his right hand that could keep him on the bench for multiple weeks. Griffin has missed the last 14 games with a partially torn quadriceps but was expected back on the court as early as Tuesday night.
The Clippers (28-16) are four games behind the Thunder in the West. They play at Indiana tonight.
