Police Responded After Suspicious Bag Found At Sooner Mall In Norman

Police are responded to the Sooner Mall in Norman, Oklahoma, in reference to a reported suspicious backpack found on the north side of the building late Thursday afternoon.

Around 2:00 p.m., the Norman Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious backpack left unattended near the Old Navy store. 

Authorities evacuated the north side of the mall. 

The bomb squad was called to the scene to investigate. The initial investigation revealed that the bag potentially contained items that were suspicious in nature.

The bag was moved to the mall's parking lot where it was opened and evaluated. No explosives were found inside the backpack.
