The I-40 shooting rampage is leaving one small community in shock and a family devastated.

Jeremy Doss Hardy, 36, of Pasadena, Texas is accused of opening fire on several cars and trucks along I-40 Wednesday night, killing two people.  One of those people was 63-year old Billie Jean West of Lone Wolf.

Ronnie West fought back tears as he looked at pictures of his wife Billie Jean and their large family on vacation. He said Billie Jean was on her way home from buying Christmas gifts for their seven grandchildren when she was killed.

"She said she'd be home in a little while and she wanted to know if I wanted to go back and finish Christmas shopping Sunday. Now I guess that will never happen,” said Ronnie.

"I can't believe somebody could do something like this out of nowhere. Just kill somebody,” said Jolene West, Billie’s Sister-In-Law. "Wonderful memories of us going to bingo. She loved bingo. She loved her children.  Her beautiful three girls and all her grandchildren."

Ronnie said Christmas will never be the same for the grandchildren.  He said his life, and the lives of his daughters will forever be changed by a senseless act of violence.  "This was devastating to me.” He said, “I mean why?”
