BREAKING: OU's Mayfield Snubbed From Heisman Finalists

OU quarterback Baker Mayfield was NOT named to the list of Heisman Trophy finalists on Monday.

Mayfield is No. 2 in the FBS in yards per pass attempt (9.6) and pass efficiency rating (178.9), and ranks in the top 10 in passing touchdowns (35) and completion percentage (.686). The Austin, Texas, native has accounted for 42 touchdowns and only five turnovers.

The Burlsworth Trophy winner has also rushed for 420 yards and seven touchdowns.

Mayfield will lead the No. 4 Sooners against top-ranked Clemson in the College Football Playoff on New Year’s Eve. The winner will play for the National Championship.

The three finalists were Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, Alabama running back Derrick Henry and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey.
