Police have identified the two suspects involved in a chase and an officer-involved shooting that took place over the weekend.
The incident started just after 3 a.m. on Sunday, when an officer noticed a vehicle driving without its headlights on in the area of NE 36th St. and Kelley Ave. The officer began to follow the vehicle when it pulled into the parking lot of a local restaurant.
Once in the parking lot, two men in the car bailed out and tried to flee on foot. One of those men, identified as 19-year-old Jose Sanchez, was quickly taken into custody.

The second man got away, but not for long. While searching for the second suspect, a call went out indicating someone was trying to break into a home nearby. When police responded to the area they saw the suspect, 19-year-old Santoi Whiters, running and then attempt to hide in some heavy brush.
A pursuing officer fired one round at Whiters during the chase, but Whiters was not hit. He was taken into custody soon after.
Officers later determined that the vehicle Sanchez and Whiters was driving had been stolen in a carjacking incident earlier on Sunday.
Both Santoi and Whiters were taken to the Oklahoma County Jail. Sanchez was booked on one count of Robbery with a Firearm. His bond was set at $20,000.
Whiters was booked on one count of Robbery with a Firearm and one count of Attempted First-Degree Burglary. His bond was set at $30,000.
