After completely changing the Oklahoma offense as the Sooners’ offensive coordinator, Lincoln Riley has officially received interest to fill a head coaching vacancy.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported this afternoon that Riley has interviewed for the North Texas job, which came open four weeks ago when the Mean Green parted ways with Dan McCarney.
Riley released a statement saying he's only focused on the Sooners.
"I understand that reports have linked my name to the head coaching vacancy at North Texas. I am absolutely not a candidate for that position. I am focused on only one thing — helping the OU Sooners win a conference championship," Riley said.
Riley has not been offered the job, and the Mean Green is expected to interview other Big 12 offensive coordinators such as TCU’s Doug Meacham and Sonny Cumbie.
