The Thunder (3-1) tips off at Chesapeake Energy Arena tonight at 7 p.m. against the Toronto Raptors (4-0). Here are a few things to know:
Lowry among league’s best point guards
Kyle Lowry made the all-star team last season, and is right on pace to make it again this year while averaging 19.8 points and 8 assists per game. In last night’s win over Dallas, Lowry totaled 27 points, 10 assists and five rebounds to go with three steals and two blocks. Lowry can stuff the stat sheet, and Russell Westbrook will need to be dialed in defensively all night.
Scola emerging for Toronto
Luis Scola was an added to the Raptors big man rotation in the offseason after Amir Johnson left for Boston. It took a few games for Scola to get acclimated to his new team, but in the win over Dallas Scola totaled 19 points and 12 rebounds and was an instrumental part of the Raptor’s win.
Bounce back win
After blowing the game on Monday against the Rockets, it’s important the Thunder don’t lose two games in a row this early in the season. It’s not the end of the world if they do lose, but the Thunder have a lot of high expectations surrounding them and two losses in three days doesn’t go unnoticed.
