A fourth inmate has died following a fight inside the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing. His loved ones said they don't understand how this could happen. But a former corrections officer at the privately run facility said she's not surprised.
A Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) representative said the altercation lasted two minutes and the next 38 minutes were spent securing the housing area where it happened.
The private prison was still on lockdown Sunday after a deadly fight inside Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing. It’s owned and operated by CCA, but houses Oklahoma inmates.
Saturday evening, authorities reported three inmates were stabbed to death and five others were taken offsite for treatment. And on Sunday morning, a CCA representative said a fourth inmate died.

Kathy Barber got the call around 7:45 a.m. She said the warden told her it was 31-year-old Anthony Fulwilder, her soon-to-be husband.
“I’m just literally devastated and I miss him horribly right now. Just watching my phone hoping this is not real and I know it is,” she said.
Fulwilder was convicted in 2003 for robbery with a firearm and shooting with intent to kill. She said he had at least seven more years to serve and but had already made big changes in his life.
“He went from being a very bitter person to someone who was very loving and caring,” she explained.
Kathy said Fulwilder had warned her a few days ago that he felt he was being targeted.
A former CCA correctional officer, who did not want to be identified, was not surprised by the deaths. She said she did not feel safe herself while on the job.
“You’ve got people who are afraid for their life that want to get out of the academy. They quit a week later because they can’t handle the pressure of when that door locks behind you,” she told News 9.
This fatal fight comes after a riot involving hundreds at the prison back in June. However, no one died in that brawl.
On Sunday, CCA officials said three other inmates were still in the hospital while the investigation continues.
